Tyler Niess

Tyler Niess is a marketing expert in real estate development and a leading proponent of smart placemaking. He has served as partner at Red Propeller, CMO and SVP at Crescent Communities, and VP at Playground Destination Properties.

A native of Charlotte who currently resides in the city, he is an active member of ULI and the innovation product Council and Levine Museum of the New South.

Niess is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

Joseph C. Ewoodzie

Joseph C. Ewoodzie is an assistant professor of sociology at Davidson College and the author of Break Beats In The Bronx, about a neglected period in hip-hop’s early years (1975-79).

In his work, he uses qualitative methods to examine how marginalized populations in urban locales make sense of inequalities in their everyday lives.

Born and raised in Ghana,Ewoodzie earned his B.A. at Ithaca College and his graduate degrees at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.

Richard Martin

Co-Founder
 

Richard Martin is a journalist and launch editor of print and digital publications including Complex, Manhattan, Miami and Food Republic.

His expertise in placemaking extends back to his work as a reporter and columnist for city newspapers such as the Village Voice, LA Weekly, Seattle Weekly and Willamette Week, up to more recent consulting for developers such as Tishman Speyer, Crescent and Lightstone.

He resides in Brooklyn, and holds degrees from American University in Washington DC and La Sorbonne in Paris, France.
